I was downloading some content today and Adf.ly started echoing and causing pop-ups like it normally does, only this time I noticed that it downloaded something automatically. It was a link to something in Chrome that I quickly deleted.

I tried to doiwnload some custom content today and the download was processed through adfly. First it wanted me to disable my adblocker,but that isn't going to happen because lesson learned after third time doing so and getting a virus. The something called Power App wanted to install as a google chrome extension, but I checked the play store.

Adfly, at least, should end up taking you to wherever they're hosting (normally just Sims File Share), and then you download the CC from there. There are still broken Adfly links out there.. was using my knowledge with sims3 cc but I can imagine these creators who may be younger and have only ever experienced sims 4 (for the most part) being a little colder to some extent. Not to judge anyone in that demographic but.

Now the laptop did not want to reformat to remove it all, and the one key restore failed which was the only way to keep Windows 7 on it after formatting it, so RIP my sims 2 and 4 laptop. Never download any custom content behind adfly, or at least not without an ad blocker, and make sure it works first.

The unofficial subreddit for all things Sims 4!. Adf.ly is just a site you come across when trying to download something in the first place. From what I remember it's one of those "wait X seconds before continuing to site" websites with a bee or a fly as a logo, but I refuse to download from adfly as well so I don't remember 🤷.
